Xmas post - End of year review

Well, its been a very up and down year to say the least, doing well during the summer months....then as soon as winter came i was getting hammered. Most was my fault for playing bad being a dick at the tables. Overall i made $18k mainly since june since i started recording my stats properly. This month ill hopefully have a profitable month but i wont be playing much now till the start of the new year, too busy going out partying drinking etc. Here are some quick aims for 2008:

-Stick to playing mainly NL500
-control my bankroll managment and try not to tilt easily
-Try to play more live tournies and cash games in casinos
-Play Lots and lots of poker lol!
-Make $100k
-Stop making hero calls with marginal hands.
-Not to play above 1/2 omaha

crap just crap

Thats what i am recently, i had $4k in my balance, and then went on to bad beat and poor play it down to $283!!!! I then worked it back up to $2.1k.......cmonn!! Then later on that evening... this evening i went down to 1.1k playing 2/5 NL got fuked up the arse when i flopped AAA he flopped QQQ and turned it into quads...i mean cmonn ffs!!!!!! So sick right now, i got hardly nothing left in my betfair account now. Basically from the last post when i going well, well it went sharpish downhill as all that upswing is now in downswing approx $1.6k down in omaha and $353+ in holdem. BOLLOCKS! I may not play or post till 2008 now, merry bludy christmas!!!!

A Good day Indeed!!

Just a small post really as im delighted with how ive played today, been playing a bit of 1/2, 2/5 NL holdem and omaha. I think i will be back at 2/5 very very soon and i dam well know i can beat it cmonnnnnn!!! Well....2day i made $716.94 playing omaha, $729.38 playing NL holdem for a total of over 1.4k!! Why couldnt everyday be like this? Hmmm...i ask myself this all the blooudy time, a fresh new start for the new year of 2008? i sure as well fckin hope so......leaving my job this time next year!? Off course i will be able to.....i hope.
Oh yeh and another thing, anyone else watch the TV series Heroes out there? This programme is totally sick! sick i tell u! Of course in a good way (sick). I'm currently on season 2 just watched ep10. For anyone who hasnt yet watched it do so, its by far the best thing on tv ive seen for years, totally addictive. Anyway enuff rambling....2mrw to the Empire casino leicester SQ. Cant fukin wait.

A Home game

Last night had a game with some mates from work a big £30 buyin! Normally our games are only £10 on average, but we thought we'd change that for once. A full 10 player game which i came 2nd for £100! Deep-stacked play was good, but the game dragged due to other 'substances' involved if u get what i mean, but yeh me and a mate adam were heads up blinds 2k/4k which i was shortstacked so i went all-in with A4o and he called with A9 he hit a nine and that was that.
Online this month....sorry i should say last month of november i made:

$695 rakeback

total: $1812.82

This could and should have been a whole lot more, im trying to build up more rakeback playing up to nine tables now. Aims for the current month are to make $5k+ and a shitload of rakeback. Plans for tommorow are to go the casino in leicester SQ with my bird and just around london which should be fun, and go to some place called Tinseltown as it apparantly does some 'sick milkshakes'. Im still hanging over from last nights goings on, but apart from that time to play again.

Tight is right.....

Since the last post i ended up losing all of it, a mixture of bad beats and loose player. I keep thinking i can out play the player with re-raises, but forget its 1/2 and most of the time the fish will call, rather than higher up where they will respect certain moves and re-raises. So i just started playing basic poker really, tight aggressive with a the odd few bluffs on very rare occassions lol! I think this will be the only way to rebuild my huge losses, as at the time of writing this it seems to be working, so now i am $929 up this month, going down from 1.3k down to $-363 and back up to the current $929. I know this is so fuckin measley, but most important im happy with how im playing and off course it helps hitting the sets and getting paid off. Its all about the set, nothing else........the best hand i reckon for getting a lot of money. Also i noticed i used to raise most pair and any pair from any position, i have since calmed down and started limping with certain low pairs and folding at times too! I am going to head over to the 'VIC' casino in london, suprising ive never been as i found out its only like a 25min drive for me, ive heard its easy pickings on a fri and sat night, but then again so is online! Hmmm....nah i will go to play live as the only live cash games ive played were in vegas 2006. I aint gonna touch the tournies as im wasting my money it seems, ok thats enuff waffling, mo fo's gota earn sum dough lol!

On the rise again?..........

First things first regarding the MPP CPC thingy on hills, no i didnt get a seat, went out 259th. I made a bad move i suppose, went all-in with 55 on BTN wen i really didnt need to as id been playing quite well up until that point, and the BB calls with KK. Ok i was unlucky to run into a big hand like that, but i could have waited for a better spot. Was feckin pissed off, esp when i say to myself ill learn and do things differently, but i still dont. And i do need to stop jamming that all-in button so quickly when i dont need to and a smaller raise would do the same job. I'm gona blame it on the fact i wasnt feeling well as ive come down with the flu! fukin bollocks lemsip and paramol beechams or woteva shit it dnt work and it made me drowsy lol!. I did play the betfair 16k and came 18th for $192....wow hahahaha! Also came 3rd in a $5 rebuy PLO tourny on Fulltilt for $110.

hmmmm....cash games im on the up so far this month up $1.3k. Been playing mostly $1/2 NL and trying not to fulfill my urge to play higher stakes. I know if i was playing fulltime im quite confident i could make a consistent income playing 1/2. I have also become more agressive in my play raising more in position than i used to, actually thinking about the betting on different streets and think about how im going to play back on the next street dependent on card and his range. Apologies for the long time since last post, also would like to say good luck to amatay for doing what ive always thought about doing and probly alot of others out there, that being Playing poker fulltime and quiting work. MTT's

Been playing quite a few MTT's recently, only success coming in a headhunter tourny where i came 2nd for £126 for a £5 buyin. I think my overall play has improved vastly in tournments, but one thing i keep doing is going out near the bubble alot, after hours of play its quite frustrating. Maybe im not playing agressively enough during the bubble time, and leaking chips on hands such as QJo which i dnt really need to play when ive got an above average chip lead, as a few hundred here and there wasting chips on these type hands leak the chips for when the double hand comes up, and therefore dont have as much as i should. I have also been calling raises from the button raiser, then 3/4 betting pot on a untextured flop, e.g 553.

Cash games ive been very medicore, no major wins and no major losses. I guess i wont be making back my huge losses this month, noway near to be honest lol! My aim however is to do it by the end of 2007. Theres a carribean poker classic final satalite on William Hill ive bought into for 20,000 MPP's. I figured i just had the points sitting there gathering dust and really werent using them for anything, so hey why not! Theres 70 packages in total i believe with 1-20 places getting full package and 21-70 getting the lite package. I guess ill be happy with any package! hahaha........Wish me luck Nov 8th.

A quick little post while at work, I went rileys on tuesday night and came 4th for a magnificient £32....lol haha wp me! I think i played probably my best live game ive ever played, good timing, good folds, and getting paid on my big hands. I went out with A3o when i raised 3x blind only to be re-raised all-in.....i called and he flipped AA. I guess that was a bad move from my part but i was playing for 1st place and didnt wana just hang around trying to stay in for a higher money finish. Only 5k thousand more and ill be back where i was when playing well and making a profit every month. This will no doubt be a major losing month for me, and no matter how much i was screwing and down about it, i am set now for a major comeback and will grind it out at the 0.50/1 and 1/2 NL tables until i make back with more on top of the money i lost. I was playing out of my league and i know this and was really stupid.

Other things are i joined the video game style software of PKR and depositied $100. I went with $20 onto a 0.50/1 NL table and got up to $106 and left. I duno whether it was just the players i played or whether they are consistently that bad, but ill definitely be playing there a lot more from now on methinks! The graphics and format of site are all good, which i why i think the players play so bad as there just luving the playing with chips or taunting the opponents buttons etc. Also made a deposit of $50 on pokerroom.com while at work, but did not allow me to play real money games as the java version was old and would not update :( . So yes what else would i do but go home and play with it lol!! So went onto a 0.50/1 NL with $50 and got out at $212. My bad run changing??.....dam i hope so.

TILT!!!!! on day off

Ahhhhhhh man i hate my day off during the week, my worst lost for a very long time, i just played bad and player higher up when i said to myself i wudnt do so, i'm so fucked off right now its unreal cos i know its my fault for losing more than i should of and just playing like a right tit on 5/10 and 10/20 NL and PL omaha. For fuck sake, i deposited £4k in total today and i now have $1.6k in funds. I feel sick as fuck, on top of that i wiped the $1k that was already in there.........................................
I do so well and just one day sumthin happens and fucks me rite up, so ive decided this is it, i'm gonna remove my card details from betfair so i cant deposit any more and treat this as my last money ever to play poker with and see wot happens........
Why oh why did i ring betfair and attach new card details, if only i didnt ...dammmmmmm FFS!!!!

Slow comeback on the cards??

Rileys was cancelled this week due to no key to the cuboard where the chips are held! lol! I mean WTF is this, its just becoming a shithole since the manager got sacked for taking money out the till for his gambling habits and using it to pay for his own private games hahahaha......then got sprung by his regional manager. Its now run like a shithole where no one knows what there doing, i think ill be turning to the western club from now on.

Now on to the online front, was playing 1/2 NL before i went rileys for a profit of $190 for the session. Then when i came home i played another session and made $206, so total of +$396 for yesterday. Its not that much of a great day i suppose but ive decided to play longer sessions multi tabling of 2-4 tables at this level from now on to make back what ive lost this month, as im fairly confident of beating it quite easily and without the swings of 2/5 and 5/10NL.

I also played a $30 27 player tourny on stars placing 5th for $66. I raised 3x blind with 88 and he re-raised just under my all-in, I thought for a bit and went all-in which i obviously regret as i knew he had an over pair and i didnt need to get involved as i still had enough chips sitting in 3rd in chips. I have decided to really concentrate on my MTT play from now on as i think im soooo weak compared to my cash game play. Maybe i dont play enough STT's or MTT's i dont know, but my next goal in that department is to qualify for the live events of carribean poker classic or the aussie millions in Jan 08'. Its been a long time since i qualified for a live event (my only live event lol) WSOP 2006 main event which was probably a fluke.

I hate poker........!!!!!!

A disappointing post.......I know i said i would post results from the month of september but as i'm at work its going to have to wait till my next post from home. I'll start off with rileys tournie, where i've been doing badly past 2 times, early exits probly due to the 'cant be bothered' attitude and poor run of cards. I had K8s clubs in big blind and 2100 chips, blinds 300/600. The small blind calls , i go all-in he calls with Q9 instantly....he hits 2 pair and thats the end of me. Oh yeh i go home and lost $1k.
Now to yesterday night I had a terrible session with overall ending down $2.6 k, played generally bad and most of the money was lost when i lost a big pot of $4kish with AA Other player had 88, it went all-in on flop of 258. Ah well it happens. So now im down overall for the month of October $1.6k roughly. Thats the way shit goes i guess.
Ive also joined card runners few days ago and the videos are really good and give an informative view on how the high stakes players actually think when playing mind boggling stakes online, some of the plays are quite sick i have to say!

PL Omaha........

Well first off i'll just mention i went rileys tournie my usual thing there...except this time i went out early, just card dead and just cudnt be asked to play as i was more interested in watching the arsenal game which was showing on big screen.
Now to Omaha, the Pot-limit variety. I've played a few very short sessions of PLO1/2 , 2/5, 6-table and 10 table. And god dam i totally luv this game, just so much action, big pots even tho its PL, and just more technical game. It makes a nice change to the usual NL Holdem I mainly play and i think its good to vary sometimes and try other variants of poker. I mean dnt get me wrong its not the first time i've played the game, but before i really had no clue about it at all. Just recently i've played it with a bit more seriousness and thought process (i think!!). I've posted a pic above of how PT says ive done so far, oh yeh and ive still got to pay for that as i just downloaded it to try it out for omaha.

Other things which has no relevance i suppose but i'll say it anyway, my back is killing me. I ordered my chair from www.Furnitureatwork.co.uk on 10th aug. And nope its still not come. Basically to cut a long story short there saying its delivered when its not, and just keep coming up with excuses. DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THEM!!! I spent good money for it.....ah well i have to put up with a chair which has no padding as its just so worn out i have to put pillows on bottom and my back for some minor comfort lol! Deary me..........oh not to mention i had my debit card fraudulently used online and waiting for natwest to gimme back my money lol!

Next blog will hopefully be end of the month showing how i've done overall in Holdem and omaha in Sept. Oh did i mention i played 25/50 NL in AUG wen i was on tilt!!!!!!! I lost $6.5k, and dont really wana chat about it in detail to be frankly honest!!. I didnt want to post it but i then i thought to myself, the whole point why i set this blog up was to be truthful to all the way and not 'chat brezze' or 'crap' to those who dont know the lingo......also to make sure i write in any significant wins and losses. In Future ill try and put it in near to when it happens. Ok im off to start playing, let the games begin........

Pocket Aces......

Went to the usual rileys on 18th, came 4th for £30. Was not at all happy tho, i was in the small blind and 2nd in chips with about 11k, big blind chip leader with we'l say about 30k. Everyone else folds so back to me and i raise 3x blind with AA, he re-raises me so i say ok i re-raise him back....and yes he puts me all-in. Guess what he turns over....K9o, i mean cmon k9o played in that way, when ive been playing solid and that kind or raising going on preflop!!!!!!! JUST A JOKE!!! So anyway i had a bad feeling when the 1st card on flop was a K, yep then 2nd card 9 to rub it in. No Ace followed and i was steaming. I finished my fosters and came home on tilt and played online which so wasnt a good idea, i ended up losing $1.3k. Bugger!!.......
I mean dont get me wrong ive lost with Aces loads of times, its just i gave him respect and does me with K9o. Muppet. Just like in the above pic!!!.......

A bad Start to september!!!

The poker gods havent been kind to me, and i think my bad phase is finally here, hopefully get through it without getting to scarred. According to my Poker tracker, im $847.35 down so far ( click pic above) this month, having been up $3.9k at one point! Back to grinding at lower levels i think for a while as im a little steaming. Other than that i really need a break, not just from poker but from work, life and i just want to get away and relax for a while. Tuesday was the usual rileys tourny, which i came 2nd for a whole sum of £60!! I was short stacked heads up with about 18k to his 60k!. I went all-in with K8o against J8o, and jumped up and preyed no JACK no JACK........yep the 1st card on flop.......A BLUDY JACK!. LOL Ah well nh gg wp.

Belated post....

Went to riley's weekley freezeout tournie on tuesday 21st, came 2nd for £82. They've changed it to a £10 insead of the usual £20 they used to have, apparently due to some new law coming in september. Other than that been on usual betfair playing 2/5, 5/10 NL. I've entered the pokerstars sunday hundred grand thingy 2day for $10+1, hopefully cash big in a online MTT soon as my results recently have been very dry to say the least! lol. I can see my cash game play has improved alot the last few months, well since ive been playing on betfair seriously (26th june). Hopefully it all continues and the consistency sticks!!! I know a bad phase is coming, it normally does.....but until then HAPPY BLUDY DAYS!!! LOL!
Its a nice day so im off to the park for some footy, and play tennis at the courts. To be fair the weather has been absolutely crap this summer, so must take full advantage when the sun does finally shine a few days in a row.....especially this being bank holiday weekend. Ahhhh relaxing.......nice cold beer.......oh and then back home for some online poker!! lol.

A Touch of shopping.........

I'm revamping my flagging PC which really is just pissing me off when it restarts by itself in the middle of playing or browsing the web. The new setup will have the 27" Dell monitor, and use old screen as well, new graphics card and tv card. I thought i may as well get a bigger screen so not only help when i play poker, but also can be used as a TV to watch DVD's and just really multi-task with ease.

Other than that my target profit for the month is $5k.

Weekly Rileys.......

Went to the local rileys for a little £20+0.60p freezeout, got knocked out in 11th place, was screwing a little but have calmed down now. I had AQs, went all-in preflop, he limp called my all-in with AK...paid out top 9, oh well...nh....gg.
Came home played $2.50/$5 on betfair, went on with $100. Called preflop with 4d5d, flopped str8 on board. Let us know any views on how it was played.

Erm....1st Post!!

Ok here goes. I'm a 25 yr old part-time player. I learnt the game of holdem exactly 2 yrs ago this month. Aint got any major successes to brag about (dam!!!). But i qualified for WSOP 2006 (no cash). I've trying to play quite seriously over the last few months, with quite good success for my standards. Ok thats that got work in the morning :( .
